How to Get Your Steam Trade URL (CS2) in 30 Seconds

By Cashout Skin Editorial Team · · 3 min read

Your Steam Trade URL is the unique link that lets another account or a marketplace send you a trade offer. You need it to sell or buy CS2 and CS:GO skins anywhere outside of Steam itself. The good news: finding it takes about 30 seconds. Here is exactly how.

What is a Steam Trade URL?

A Steam Trade URL looks like this:

https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=XXXXXXXX&token=XXXXXXXX

It contains two parts: your partner ID (which account to send to) and a token (a key that proves you allowed offers). Together they let a site send a trade offer directly to your inventory — without ever needing your password or login.

How to find your Steam Trade URL (step by step)

  1. Open Steam (the app or steamcommunity.com in your browser) and sign in.
  2. Click your profile name in the top-right, then choose Inventory.
  3. Click the Trade Offers button on the right.
  4. Click Who can send me Trade Offers?
  5. Scroll to the Third-Party Sites section. Your Trade URL is shown in the box there.
  6. Click Copy (or select the whole link and copy it).

That's it — paste that link into your profile on cashout.skin and you're ready to trade.

Direct link: you can usually jump straight to the page at steamcommunity.com/id/me/tradeoffers/privacy while logged in.

How to reset your Steam Trade URL

If your Trade URL ever leaks or stops working, you can invalidate the old one and generate a fresh token:

  1. Go to the same Who can send me Trade Offers? page.
  2. Click Create New URL.
  3. Copy the new link and update it everywhere you use it.

Resetting is harmless and instant — the old link simply stops working.

Common Trade URL problems

  • "Invalid trade URL format": Make sure you copied the entire link, including both partner= and token=. A missing token is the most common cause.
  • Trade offers not arriving: Your inventory may be set to private. Set your inventory privacy to Public in your Steam privacy settings.
  • "This Trade URL is no longer valid": Someone (maybe you) reset it. Generate a new one and update your profile.
  • Brand-new account: Steam restricts trading on very new or unverified accounts. You may need to add the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator first. (See our guide on the CS2 trade hold.)

A note on safety

Your Trade URL is safe to share with a reputable marketplace — it only lets sites send you offers, it does not give anyone access to your account. But you should never share your password or your Steam Guard codes, and a legitimate site will never ask for your Steam API key. If anyone does, walk away.
